About the Role
A Tool Room Technician is responsible for controlling inventory, storage, and issuance of tools, small equipment, and selected consumable supplies. The role also includes repairing hand, power, and pneumatic tools. The technician works on industrial construction projects and must meet physical requirements and have reliable transportation. The technician receives, counts, and issues stock items based on authorization, unpacks deliveries, and stores them in appropriate locations. Continuous inventory tracking, labeling, and maintaining orderly storage areas are essential. They also clean, maintain, and repair tools and equipment to ensure safety compliance, and record usage or damage of stock. • Control inventory, storage, and issue of tools and consumables. • Repair hand, power (electrical and pneumatic), and pneumatic tools. • Receive, count, and issue stock items with proper authorization. • Unpack deliveries and store items in organized, accessible locations. • Continuously track inventory and update records. • Label goods using tags, stamps, or electric marking tools. • Clean, maintain, and repair tools and equipment to meet safety regulations. • Record usage and damage of stock and report defects. • Provide assistance or direction to warehouse and storage personnel. • Follow directions and use hand tools for opening or crating materials.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least two years of experience on industrial construction projects and possess all required knowledge, skills, and abilities. They must be able to meet the physical demands of the job and have reliable transportation. Additional qualifications include familiarity with basic computer operations and effective communication skills. The position requires the ability to repair and inspect hand and power tools, knowledge of combined‑cycle power plant construction processes, and strong organizational skills for accurate counts. Good written and verbal communication, following directions, and using basic hand tools are also required. Preference is given to current or former Zachry employees with prior experience in the same role. The job demands extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 lb, as well as occasional work at slight heights, ladders, and platforms with fall protection. Employees must communicate verbally and audibly, use their arms and hands for various tasks, and wear required PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators, vests, gloves, and leather boots. • 2+ years experience in industrial construction or material handling. • Ability to inspect and repair hand and power tools. • Knowledge of combined‑cycle power plant construction processes. • Strong organizational and accurate counting skills. • Effective written and verbal communication; basic computer proficiency. • Preferred: current or former Zachry employee with prior experience. • Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, lift up to 50 lb, and work at heights. • Must wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator, vest, gloves, boots).
