About the Role
The position provides hands‑on involvement in both site‑based and corporate procurement, offering exposure to senior stakeholders and suppliers in the water sector, within a Tier 1 ASX‑listed organisation that values safety and a collaborative culture. • Develop and support procurement strategies, RFQs and sourcing for water infrastructure projects. • Lead supplier and subcontractor engagement during TOC development, including benchmarking, risk assessments and negotiations. • Expedite materials and manage procurement activities through to subcontractor handover. • Collaborate with regional procurement hubs to leverage Downer’s buying power and manage long‑lead items. • Identify, manage and report procurement‑related risks, opportunities and performance metrics.

What You Bring
Downer’s Energy & Utilities Water Services business is seeking an experienced Procurement Advisor on an 18‑month contract to support major water infrastructure programs across Queensland. Reporting to the Senior Procurement Advisor, the role contributes to Target Outturn Costs, sourcing and contracting within Downer and client frameworks, collaborating with project teams, commercial leaders and regional procurement hubs. • Exposure to complex, high‑profile water infrastructure programs. • Strong safety culture with Zero Harm at the core of operations. • 5+ years’ experience in procurement for utilities, infrastructure or capital projects (Tier 1 experience preferred). • Strong commercial and contractual acumen across complex procurement packages. • Ability to engage confidently with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders. • Proven experience working in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven project environments. • Proactive, detail‑oriented and solutions‑focused approach.
