About the Role
The role focuses on onboarding, developing, coaching, mentoring, and performance management of all drivers and helpers. It requires establishing and maintaining positive relationships with front‑line employees while spending most of the day in the field alongside them. Key responsibilities include providing tools, instruction, and feedback to new employees, maintaining daily communication, reviewing best practices, and supporting career‑goal progress. The incumbent must identify improvement opportunities, lead safety initiatives, conduct root‑cause investigations for injuries, and ensure regulatory documentation is accurate and up to date. Regular audits of route operation records and visits to customer sites to resolve safety issues are also required. • Onboard and train new drivers and helpers with tools, instruction, and feedback. • Provide daily touchpoints and coaching to front‑line employees. • Review and implement best practices to improve daily performance. • Support employee career‑goal development and identify improvement opportunities. • Lead safety initiatives and conduct root‑cause investigations for injuries. • Maintain and audit regulatory documentation (e.g., DVIRs, time and attendance). • Visit customer sites to evaluate and resolve safety issues.

What You Bring
Required qualifications are an Associate’s degree (or a high school diploma with two years of relevant experience), a minimum age of 18, legal eligibility to work in the job’s location, and a valid driver’s license. Preference is given to candidates who have completed the WM Operations Manager Trainee program. The position blends office and plant/field environments, requiring standard office equipment as well as physical activity in a mix of settings.
