About the Role

The Gerente de Control de Proyectos coordinates the project controls staff and participates in control activities for a specific project or portfolio. The manager also guides, mentors, and develops the team while implementing corporate project control procedures. Key duties include leading and supervising all project control activities to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with corporate standards; assigning tasks, managing workloads, and providing direction and mentorship; supporting performance evaluations, training, and certification plans; and ensuring ethical and contractual compliance. The role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules (Primavera P6, MS Project), controlling project costs through tracking, forecasting, trend analysis, and contingency evaluation, and managing change processes with timely documentation and communication. Additionally, the manager customizes tools, prepares performance reports for clients and senior management, contributes to corporate procedure improvements, and coordinates with estimation and other areas for smooth transitions. • Lead and supervise all project control activities ensuring accuracy and corporate compliance • Assign tasks, manage workloads, and mentor project controls staff • Support performance evaluations, training, and certification programs • Ensure team adherence to ethical standards and contractual requirements • Develop, maintain, and analyze project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project • Control project costs through tracking, forecasting, trend analysis, and contingency assessment • Implement and oversee effective change management processes with timely documentation • Customize and optimize project control systems and tools to meet project needs • Prepare and present comprehensive performance reports to clients and internal leadership • Contribute to the improvement of corporate procedures for control, estimating, scheduling, and documentation • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency, quality, and consistency • Coordinate with Estimation and other departments for smooth transition from proposal to execution • Provide cost and schedule data to support business development and proposal efforts • Collaborate with senior leadership on revenue planning, forecasts, and strategic projects

What You Bring

Preferred candidates have 10–15 years of project controls experience in oil & gas, engineering, construction, or mining, with at least five years in a supervisory role. They hold an engineering or business degree, a specialization or master’s in project management/costs, and ideally a PMP certification. Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, MS Office, ERP MS365 Dynamics, and advanced English is required. Core competencies include leadership, results orientation, commercial and financial insight, customer focus, problem solving, strategic thinking, excellent communication, confidentiality handling, and the ability to thrive in dynamic, multitasking environments. The position works in a typical office setting with frequent computer use and sitting. • Possess 10–15 years of project controls experience in oil & gas, engineering, construction, or mining • Have at least 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience • Hold an engineering or administrative science degree with a specialization or master’s in project management or costs; PMP certification preferred • Proficient in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, MS Office, and MS365 Dynamics ERP • Advanced English proficiency • Demonstrate leadership, results orientation, commercial/financial vision, customer focus, problem‑solving, strategic thinking, strong communication, confidentiality handling, and multitasking ability
