About the Role
The Senior Power Systems Engineer will conduct detailed power system and grid code compliance studies, perform grid connection due diligence, support electrical design, lead medium to large scale project components, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to business process improvements. The role also involves writing bids and proposals and liaising with OEMs and clients to achieve technical outcomes. • Undertake detailed power system/grid code compliance studies using PowerFactory, PSCAD and PSS/E • Conduct grid connection due diligence, including prospecting, optioneering, risk and capacity assessments • Perform power system studies for industrial projects such as water‑treatment plants • Support electrical design delivery through power system analyses • Lead components of medium to large scale projects • Mentor and guide entry‑level engineers • Contribute to business process improvement initiatives • Write bids and proposals • Liaise with OEMs and clients to achieve technical outcomes

What You Bring
Our Transmission & Distribution team is seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer to develop and deliver grid connection services projects while supporting the broader T&D business. This role offers the chance to work on diverse, multidisciplinary projects across the UK and Ireland, collaborating with major Power and Energy clients. • Proven experience in engineering design consultancy, OEM or utility network planning • Understanding of transmission and distribution planning and customer connection processes for regulated and industrial networks • Knowledge of UK Grid Code, G99, G5/5, P28 and optionally Ireland Grid Code • Proficient in PSCAD, PowerFactory and Python scripting; PSSE and ETAP experience desirable • Understanding of control and protection principles for high‑voltage substation equipment, transmission lines, generators and transformers • Basic knowledge of power electronics and control systems for renewable technologies • Exceptional written and oral communication skills • Desirable: Experience reviewing full‑suite compliance studies (steady‑state, harmonic, dynamic, SSO) • Desirable: Experience with NESO/DNO/TO review periods of compliance study submissions
