Job Highlights
About the Role
The position develops cost control processes, monitors compliance, manages variations, cash‑flow forecasting and risk financial impacts, and supports contractor claim responses to achieve optimum value for money. It also maintains cost reporting systems and fosters relationships with the supply chain and professional bodies. • Lead cost control for the contracting entity and manage a team of intermediate quantity surveyors. • Develop and enforce cost control standards, procedures, and policies aligned with industry and contractual terms. • Monitor compliance with cost control standards and flag non‑conformances to the Programme Director and Project Manager. • Create and execute the programme’s cost management strategy, including review of contractor KPIs for cost and budget management. • Oversee variation management, monthly cash‑flow forecasting, retention, liquidated damages and related financial adjustments. • Advise the risk team on financial impacts of potential risks and provide escalation routes for cost issues. • Support the contracting entity’s response to contractor claims and ensure value for money in procurement and delivery. • Maintain cost reporting processes, systems and administrative procedures for timely dissemination across the contracting entity. • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, consultants, suppliers and professional bodies. • Provide expert advice on claims and disputes for construction and consultancy contracts. • Review schedules of rates or Bills of Quantities for pre‑tender estimates and comment on designs. • Evaluate monthly post‑contract valuations, variation orders and final accounts.

What You Bring
The successful candidate holds a BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying/Cost Management, is registered on the Statutory Register of Quantity Surveyors in Ireland and preferably chartered with RICS or SCSI, and possesses excellent IT skills with proficiency in digital measurement and cost planning tools. You also have experience working within primary infrastructure markets. • Hold a BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying/Cost Management. • Be registered on the Statutory Register of Quantity Surveyors in Ireland, preferably chartered with RICS or SCSI. • Demonstrate excellent IT skills and proficiency with digital measurement, cost planning and tender document tools.
