What You Bring
The Iron Worker must be skilled in basic welding, rigging, and flame cutting, with the ability to use pneumatic tools, understand safe load limits, wire rope basics, and hand signals. Experience with choke sizing, layout calculations, and magnetic drilling is required, as is a strong focus on safety while working at heights. The role involves work in both plant operations and construction jobsite environments. Physical requirements involve regularly lifting or carrying up to 50 lb (occasionally up to 100 lb), repetitive hand and arm use, climbing and balancing on steel or wood frameworks, ladders, and scaffolds, and working in diverse weather and terrain conditions, including confined spaces. Mentally, the worker must communicate effectively with supervision, comprehend written instructions, perform basic math calculations, make decisions, stay detail‑oriented, and maintain focus amid distractions. • Practice proper rigging technique • Lift/push/pull up to 50 lb routinely (occasional 100 lb) • Work in adverse weather and uneven or confined spaces • Communicate effectively and follow written safety directions • Perform math calculations and apply decision‑making skills
