The Development & BTR Valuation team within JLL’s UK Living Advisory business is seeking a Senior Surveyor focused on residential development and Build‑to‑Rent (BTR) assets. The team, recognised for its national BTR mandate and focus on London and the South East for Build‑for‑Sale work, needs a skilled valuer who can quickly assume responsibility for residential development, investment and BTR valuations. While BTR experience is not mandatory, it is a distinct advantage, as is experience valuing other operational asset types and an interest in the BTR market. The role offers the chance to work with investors, lenders and developers, enhancing client relationships and driving business development. Supported by a Director, the successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the residential market and be proficient with both DCF and residual valuation models. Independence, resourcefulness, high numeracy and a keen eye for detail are essential, along with fluent report writing and strong communication skills. The position is based at JLL’s head office at 30 Warwick Street, London W1, with flexible hybrid working, and requires occasional national travel for inspections and client meetings. • MRICS qualification (essential) and 1–2+ years’ post‑qualification experience. • RICS Registered Valuer. • Experience valuing property assets using DCF, investment capitalization and residual methods. • Proficient in MS Excel for data analysis and financial modeling. • Experience pricing large‑scale residential build‑for‑sale schemes in Excel. • Ability to create and work with Excel cash‑flows and Argus Developer. • Excellent written English; high‑quality report production in MS Word. • Proven track record of building and sustaining client relationships and explaining valuation assumptions. • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple competing priorities. • Strong work ethic with a demonstrable commitment to client service. • Valid driving licence.
