About the Role

• Perform new construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de‑energized overhead lines safely. • String overhead wire and set poles, anchors, and crossarms. • Install transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, insulators, switches, and other switchgear. • Troubleshoot primary and secondary electrical systems and replace fuses in transformers. • Work with high‑voltage energized systems, using load busters and phasing sticks while protecting lives. • Conduct pre‑job/tailgate briefings and safely execute reconductoring and live‑line (glove) work. • Maintain company vehicles, tools, PPE, and properly inspect rubber goods. • Identify primary and secondary voltages, understand grounding procedures, and check transformer voltage.

What You Bring

The Class B Lineman – Overhead is a semi‑skilled role responsible for constructing, maintaining, and repairing electrical overhead distribution systems. The position works at multiple sites and may require travel to other states based on customer demand. Physical demands include regular standing, walking, using hands, and lifting over 50 lb, as well as the ability to perform rigorous physical labor and work at heights or in confined spaces. • Climb and work at heights or confined spaces on wood or steel structures. • Minimum five years recent field experience; ability to read, write, and communicate in English. • Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days (CDL preferred) and travel long distances on short notice. • Lift more than 50 lb, work in inclement weather, and be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
