About the Role
Key responsibilities include performing safe new construction, maintenance, and repair work on both energized and de‑energized overhead lines, stringing wire, setting poles and anchors, and installing equipment such as transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear. The Lineman also troubleshoots primary and secondary systems, replaces fuses, clears faulted circuits, and follows strict grounding and safety procedures. • Perform new construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de‑energized overhead distribution systems safely. • String overhead conductors and set poles and anchors. • Install transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear. • Troubleshoot primary and secondary electrical systems and replace fuses in transformers. • Use load buster tools, phasing sticks, and mechanical jumpers safely. • Conduct pre‑job and tailgate briefings and adhere to grounding procedures. • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good condition.

What You Bring
The Class B Lineman • Overhead is a semi‑skilled position focused on the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical overhead distribution systems. The role operates at various locations and may require travel to other states based on customer demands. Candidates must have a minimum of five years of recent field experience, be able to read and communicate effectively in English, and obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of hire. Additional requirements include the ability to travel long distances on short notice, lift over 50 lb, inspect PPE, and work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed. The position demands regular standing, walking, reaching, and the use of hands, with frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, loud noise, and extreme weather conditions at construction sites. Employees must consistently follow company safety rules and policies while working outdoors in inclement weather. • Clear faulted circuits, conduct reconductoring, and obtain one‑shot resets on reclosers. • Work at heights and in confined spaces, climbing wood or steel structures with appropriate PPE. • Lift loads exceeding 50 lb and perform rigorous physical labor in all weather conditions. • Possess 5+ years of recent field experience and obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days. • Communicate effectively in English and travel long distances on short notice.
