About the Role
The Project Safety Lead partners with Environmental Health & Safety and project teams to enforce site compliance with company programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The role involves leading training on safe work practices, guiding management of environmental and hazardous material reports, and driving cultural change in safety practices on a single construction project. • Lead and enforce EH&S policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance on a single construction project. • Build relationships with project teams to implement cultural changes in safety practices. • Assess project safety exposures, develop action plans, and mitigate risks. • Communicate performance improvement requirements to project leadership using safety standards and best practices. • Deliver EH&S training to project leadership, subcontractors, joint‑venture partners, and trade crews. • Analyze Phase I, Phase II, and pre‑demolition environmental surveys to guide risk mitigation. • Review and interpret environmental and hazardous‑material reports, OSHA and EPA regulations, and provide guidance to the project team. • Develop and implement safety, health, and wellbeing programs for the entire project workforce. • Prepare and present safety performance reports to stakeholders and project meetings. • Negotiate contracts for safety services, off‑site occupational health, and on‑site wellness/medical services. • Manage, mentor, and evaluate the Project Safety team, aligning goals with company objectives and identifying training needs.

What You Bring
The role is based in Memphis, TN (division: Memphis Main) and is a regular, experienced, salaried exempt position in the Environmental Health and Safety family. Physical demands include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 15‑50 lb, and frequent sitting, standing, and use of a computer. The work environment is primarily at construction sites with exposure to moving equipment, heights, fumes, weather, and noise, with occasional office work. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field with at least 7 years of construction safety experience. • Possess a CHST certification (or obtain within 6 months) and completed OSHA 30‑hour training with current First Aid/CPR/BBP/AED certifications. • Knowledge of federal, state, and local EH&S regulations and practical application of safety/environmental principles. • Demonstrated incident management experience and ability to lead corrective actions for safety exposures. • Proven management skills with experience delegating and directing work of others. • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation abilities. • Ability to work independently in a non‑structured environment and prioritize responsibilities. • Availability for travel with reliable transportation.
