Senior Quantity Surveyor

About the Role
In this role you will manage the commercial performance of civil engineering schemes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and that strong relationships are maintained with clients and stakeholders. You will oversee subcontract documentation, change management, monthly applications and cost reporting while ensuring a safe working environment. • Ensure a safe working environment. • Produce and negotiate subcontract documentation, including terms, prices, and programme. • Manage subcontract work packages and conduct interim assessments and change management. • Issue commercial notices to clients and subcontractors as required by the contract. • Oversee timely change management, including compensation event quotations. • Prepare and submit monthly applications to the client per contract terms. • Liaise with operational and engineering staff to maintain required site records. • Generate detailed monthly reports, cost value reconciliation, and maintain a cost plan with forecasting.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate has a good appreciation of NEC contracts, strong IT skills including Excel, Word and cost‑management systems such as CEMAR or Oracle, and a relevant degree or equivalent commercial experience. Experience on large or multiple schemes, a CSCS card, excellent time‑and‑outcome management, and a professional qualification such as MCIOB or MRICS (desirable) are essential. • Demonstrate strong understanding of NEC contracts. • Proficient in Excel, Word, and cost management systems (CEMAR, Oracle). • Hold a relevant degree or equivalent commercial experience. • Experience delivering large or multiple civil engineering schemes. • Possess a CSCS card and excellent time‑and‑outcome management skills. • Professional qualification such as MCIOB or MRICS (desirable).
