About the Role

The Finisher Helper supports skilled craftspersons by performing directed duties under immediate supervision. The role requires learning all safety hazards associated with the work and safely operating tools and equipment. Work can occur in plant operations or on construction job sites. The helper assists the Finisher or Finisher Foreman with concrete-related tasks, including pouring, leveling, forming, troweling, placing, finishing, protecting, repairing, and spreading concrete using various tools. They also understand proper concrete vibration techniques and provide support to other craft workers as needed. • Assist the Finisher/Finisher Foreman with concrete work. • Place, finish, protect, and repair concrete structures. • Spread and level concrete using appropriate tools. • Operate vibrating equipment to properly consolidate concrete. • Lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lb (occasionally up to 100 lb) and perform repetitive hand/arm tasks. • Use hand and power tools (electric, gas, pneumatic) with training and authorization. • Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolds, and steel/wood frameworks. • Work in various conditions including uneven, muddy, or confined spaces and adverse weather. • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members. • Maintain focus, make decisions, and pay attention to detail amid distractions.
