About the Role
The General Foreman leads construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical overhead distribution systems, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and with excellent customer service for both crew and clients. In this role the foreman plans work, anticipates issues, supervises crew members, and provides training on safe work practices, including hot‑stick operations. He conducts pre‑job briefings, coordinates inspections, and oversees installation of components such as transformers, arresters, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear, while also troubleshooting and restoring primary and secondary systems. All vehicle, equipment, and tool upkeep is managed, and required paperwork is completed in accordance with company procedures. • Supervise and train crew on safe, productive line work, including hot‑stick procedures. • Perform new construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de‑energized overhead distribution systems. • Conduct pre‑job/tailgate briefings and coordinate crew inspections. • String overhead wire, set poles/anchors, install transformers, arresters, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear. • Troubleshoot primary and secondary systems, replace cutout fuses, and clear faulted circuits. • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools; complete required paperwork and reports.

What You Bring
Candidates must possess at least ten years of recent field experience with high‑voltage line work, a commercial driver’s license, and the physical ability to perform strenuous labor, climb various structures, lift over 50 lb, and operate safely in adverse weather. They should be knowledgeable about voltage identification, grounding, phasing, load‑bust tools, mechanical jumpers, and line protection devices, and be prepared to travel on short notice and work overtime or non‑standard shifts. The position demands a self‑motivated, team‑oriented individual who follows all safety rules and company policies. The work environment includes exposure to dirt, fumes, loud noise, and changing atmospheric conditions while working outdoors. • Must have ≥10 years field experience with high‑voltage line work and a CDL. • Demonstrated ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, lift >50 lb, and operate safely in inclement weather. • Knowledge of grounding, phasing, load‑bust tools, mechanical jumpers, and line protection devices. • Willingness to travel long distances on short notice and work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed.
