About the Role
You will support installation and commissioning activities, performing work independently and ensuring safety compliance, especially on live system components. Drawings and documents will be marked up to reflect any changes made during installation. You will assist the sub‑supplier’s installation superintendent in workforce planning and collaborate with the Project Manager to assess work status. You will inspect incoming materials for completeness and damage, coordinate handling with the sub‑supplier’s Material Control team, and issue non‑conformance reports for any damaged or missing equipment within Hitachi Energy’s scope. Final installation and commissioning tests will be overseen, with accurate completion documentation and supervised loop‑check activities. Participation in site meetings, adherence to regulations, and living the core values of safety and integrity are required. • Oversee installation, repair, and fault resolution of GIS switching systems. • Support high‑voltage system installation and client engagement on site. • Perform independent installation, commissioning, and maintenance work while ensuring safety compliance. • Update drawings and documents to reflect installation modifications. • Assist sub‑supplier superintendent in workforce planning and coordinate with the Project Manager on work status. • Inspect incoming materials, coordinate handling, and issue non‑conformance reports for damaged equipment. • Supervise final commissioning tests, loop checks, and ensure accurate completion documentation. • Comply with internal and external regulations and uphold Hitachi Energy’s safety and integrity values.

What You Bring
We are seeking a motivated GIS I&C Engineer to oversee installation, repair, and fault resolution of switching systems. You will support high‑voltage system installation, represent the team with technical expertise, and engage with clients on site. Adhering to project deadlines while maintaining cost‑performance ratios is essential. You will embody Hitachi Energy’s quality philosophy and consider the unique conditions of construction sites. A bachelor’s degree or higher diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering is required. Candidates need at least 8 years of GIS experience, preferably handling SF6 gas, and knowledge of Hitachi Energy high‑voltage GIS products is a plus. Proficiency in spoken and written English is mandatory. • Minimum 8 years GIS experience, including handling SF6 gas; bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering. • Proficient in spoken and written English.
