About the Role

The Field Chemist I supports the Lab Pack Program, Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) and other field activities by delivering on‑site services that include waste characterization, packaging, handling, and transportation. The role emphasizes safety, meticulous attention to detail, profitability, and operational efficiency. Key duties involve providing lab‑packing services at customer locations while maintaining regulatory compliance, sampling and characterizing both hazardous and non‑hazardous waste, and generating waste profiles for end‑user facilities. The chemist also prepares price quotes, supplies detailed inventories of on‑site waste, transports waste to end‑user or transfer sites, and completes the necessary internal paperwork for timely invoicing. Additional responsibilities include off‑loading waste, de‑packing and consolidating shipments, and offering technical support as needed. • Provide Lab Packing services at customer sites, ensuring regulatory compliance. • Sample and characterize hazardous and non‑hazardous waste. • Generate waste profiles and prepare price quotes for customers. • Compile detailed inventory of on‑site waste and transport it to end‑user or transfer facilities. • Complete required paperwork for invoicing and customer service. • Off‑load, de‑pack, and consolidate waste at end‑user facilities. • Offer technical support related to waste handling.

What You Bring

Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or environmental science (or equivalent experience), solid grounding in basic chemistry, and the ability to interpret business documents, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Candidates should possess good business math and basic accounting knowledge, strong communication skills, and a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor‑vehicle record. Minimum requirements are at least one year of chemistry or related environmental experience and the same driver’s license criteria. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or environmental science (or equivalent experience). • Possess at least one year of chemistry or related environmental experience. • Maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor‑vehicle record.
