About the Role

The position involves leading electrical engineering design, overseeing equipment procurement, and ensuring construction aligns with design drawings through QA/QC processes. It also includes coordinating with utilities for grid interconnection, performing system loss calculations, and developing collection system diagrams and construction details while fostering strong relationships with customers, architects, unions, and subcontractors. • Lead electrical engineering design, support, and procurement for solar construction projects • Determine optimal layout of collection systems considering overhead/underground constraints • Review manufacturer data for wiring, grounding, power factor, lightning protection, and generator outputs • Verify construction conforms to design drawings; conduct meetings and QA/QC • Provide technical expertise to all project parties and guide subcontractors during bidding and execution • Coordinate with local utilities for grid interconnection • Perform system loss calculations and develop one‑line diagrams and construction details • Maintain relationships with customers, architects, unions, and site visitors; coach team members • Ensure compliance with NEC, construction codes, and safety standards

What You Bring

Qualified candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, have at least three years of experience in electrical construction management or design, and possess a valid driver’s license. Compensation ranges from $102,000 to $137,700, with higher rates for certain locations, and includes eligibility for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
