About the Role
As a people manager, the Firmware Leader will recruit and grow the firmware team, foster a progressive work culture and raise standards to improve the quality and impact of customer deliverables. The role requires strong written and verbal communication, the ability to juggle multiple projects and the agility to adapt to shifting priorities in a globally distributed environment. • Lead firmware, control software, IoT and embedded platform development teams. • Define and implement Model‑Based Design and DevSecOps processes. • Coordinate with engineering leaders to prioritize work and resolve resource conflicts. • Recruit, build and mentor a high‑performance firmware team. • Drive adoption of emerging technologies while meeting customer needs. • Architect and develop embedded applications on bare‑metal, Linux and multiple RTOS. • Design cloud‑connected IoT solutions using protocols such as CAN, TCP/IP, Profinet, and EtherNet/IP. • Co‑design hardware and ensure cybersecurity requirements are integrated. • Establish quality, cost and customer KPIs and influence across a matrixed organization.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate brings 20–25 years of embedded development experience across bare‑metal, Linux and multiple RTOS platforms, with a track record of architecting cloud‑connected IoT solutions. They must possess deep knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, TCP/IP, Profinet, EIP), hardware co‑design, cybersecurity requirements and software design principles, and demonstrate an energising leadership style that drives change. Required education includes a Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Electronics, Electrical or Computer Science, coupled with extensive experience in solution architecture for IoT and embedded systems. Proven expertise in MBD, DevSecOps, high‑quality product deployment, and strategic vision for future products is essential. Key skills include understanding technology trends, strategic supplier and partnership knowledge, leading technology adoption, mentoring large teams, aligning vision with organizational goals, managing processes, cost, quality and customer KPIs, and influencing across a highly matrixed organization. The leader must also excel in process management and delivering customer‑centric solutions. • Manage multiple concurrent projects and adapt to changing priorities.
