About the Role

The OHE General Foreman directs crews that install overhead electrical cables, ensuring safety, tracking labor hours, and conducting daily and weekly safety briefings. This role requires deep knowledge of overhead distribution systems, blueprint reading, and the ability to manage multiple crews, troubleshoot distribution issues, and coordinate logistical resources. The foreman also oversees storm‑crew scheduling and serves as a liaison between internal and external departments. The position is field‑based and demands extensive physical activity, including climbing poles, lifting up to 50 lb, bending, squatting, and working in adverse weather conditions. Workers must have clear vision and precise hand‑eye coordination to perform tasks safely and accurately. The role may require operation of aerial lift trucks and other equipment to support cable placement. • Obtain necessary materials and ensure permits/licenses are secured. • Oversee project work, ensuring quality and timely completion. • Enforce safety standards exceeding MasTec or customer requirements. • Lead daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections. • Communicate safety briefings to crew members. • Perform aerial tasks such as new cable installs, pole transfers, and strand building when qualified. • Place and secure overhead electrical cables and connect them to terminals. • Coordinate crew activities for digging, product placement, and conduit installation. • Conduct construction tasks including hole digging, cable placement, and duct work. • Climb utility poles or operate aerial lift trucks to install cables per design. • Drive, haul, and operate equipment to support job site operations. • Train new hires and trainees on trade skills. • Call in utilities at each project site. • Offer a 401(k) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

What You Bring

• Minimum qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent, 7 years experience, 3 years supervisory experience, Class A CDL. • Preferred qualifications: 10+ years experience with extensive supervision/training, OSHA 20 certification.
