About the Role

As a System Sales Representative 1, you will drive sales and revenue for electrical fire, life and safety systems by identifying bid opportunities, analyzing market data, and developing competitive proposals. The role requires deep product knowledge, effective communication of technical features, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction from pre‑sales through post‑sales support. • Identify and qualify project bid opportunities through research, leads, and networking. • Gather and review documentation, specifications, and drawings for bid preparation. • Develop competitive bid estimates and prepare proposals. • Attend pre‑bid meetings, conduct site walks, and coordinate with manufacturers to specify equipment. • Maintain opportunity lists, electronic files, and secure required bid documents such as bonds, certifications and insurance. • Build relationships with general contractors, electrical contractors, property managers and building owners. • Conduct value‑engineering reviews and coordinate material/equipment orders with supply chain. • Collaborate with engineering/design teams to guide engineered jobs and track project status. • Participate in job‑site meetings, monitor installation progress, and perform multiple site visits as needed. • Prepare job close‑out documents, initiate billing and manage change orders. • Offer monitoring, testing and inspection services; prepare related proposals and agreements. • Deliver product presentations to end users and follow up post‑completion for feedback and additional work. • Perform cold calls to generate new business and maintain a backlog of projects. • Walk, stand and occasionally navigate uneven surfaces and stairs on site visits. • Use fingers/hands for typing and handling materials.

What You Bring

• Minimum 3 years low‑voltage fire/life/safety system experience. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Dynamics, Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP systems. • Strong communication, networking and organizational skills. • Dependable self‑starter with good work ethic and ability to work with diverse personalities. • Clean driving record. • Ability to sit at a desk for long periods and lift/push/pull at least 10 lb. • Visual acuity for reading documents and computer screens.
