About the Role

Key duties include planning drinking‑water supply, transmission, pumping, storage, and distribution systems and developing hydraulic models using Autodesk Innovyze, Bentley WaterGEMS, ArcGIS, and Civil 3D. The incumbent will build, calibrate, and validate models, run simulations, interpret results, and produce technical reports. Responsibilities also cover presenting findings to clients and regulators, training junior modelers, estimating effort for proposals, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal standards. • Plan and design drinking‑water utility systems, including supply, transmission, pumping, storage, and distribution. • Develop and calibrate hydraulic models using Autodesk Innovyze, Bentley WaterGEMS, ArcGIS, and Civil 3D. • Conduct simulations, interpret results, and prepare technical reports for federal, private, and municipal clients. • Present technical findings to clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders; provide training as needed. • Lead and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 hydraulic modelers, delivering software training. • Estimate task effort for proposal support and assist in business development. • Gather and correlate engineering data, perform calculations, and ensure compliance with regulations. • Work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment while maintaining positive client relationships.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a BA/BS in civil or environmental engineering (or equivalent) and have at least four years of relevant experience, including proficiency with hydraulic modeling software and GIS tools. U.S. citizenship is required, and the role may involve travel of up to two weeks for field investigations. Preferred qualifications include six years of experience, a North Carolina PE license (or ability to obtain within six months), wastewater modeling expertise, and an engineering intern certificate. • Minimum: BA/BS in civil/environmental engineering plus 4 years related experience; proficiency in hydraulic modeling and GIS; U.S. citizenship; ability to travel up to 2 weeks. • Preferred: 6 years experience, North Carolina PE (or obtain within 6 months), wastewater modeling (InfoWorks), planning/permitting/design of water distribution projects, Engineering Intern certificate.
