About the Role
The Assistant Community Manager reports to the Community Manager and oversees daily operations and financial functions of a housing community. Responsibilities include rent collection, budgeting, staff supervision, leasing, maintenance coordination, administrative oversight and risk management, especially when the Community Manager is absent. • Post and reconcile resident payments; monitor receivables and pursue delinquent accounts. • Prepare late notices, contact residents/guarantors, and file evictions as needed. • Execute end‑of‑month closing procedures and maintain accurate financial records. • Hire, train, coach, and supervise onsite staff; ensure compliance with company policies. • Promote staff performance through ongoing training and consistent leadership. • Implement leasing strategies, market units, and handle resident complaints. • Develop and run resident retention programs such as events, promotions, and newsletters. • Show, lease, and move in prospective residents while maintaining accurate documentation. • Oversee customer service, monitor maintenance request turnaround, and conduct property inspections. • Manage vendor relationships, obtain bids, and control property resources and supplies economically.

What You Bring
Candidates need at least a high school diploma (a bachelor’s degree is preferred) and two years of housing‑industry experience or an equivalent combination of education and training. Basic computer skills, knowledge of Fair Housing laws and OSHA requirements, and the ability to use onsite software are required. • High school diploma required; bachelor's preferred; 2+ years housing experience; basic computer and Fair Housing/OSHA knowledge. • Physical duties include standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lb, using ladders, and working in varied temperatures and weather conditions, with occasional overtime and emergency response.
