About the Role
The Standard Operations Position supervises a high‑performing, safety‑focused operations team across multiple functions, facilities, or commodities. The leader is responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operations while driving continuous improvement and aligning with corporate strategies, goals, and performance metrics. Key responsibilities include visible safety leadership, real‑time accountability through meetings, audits, training and incident investigations, and evaluating team performance against efficiency, reliability and quality metrics. The role also oversees crew effectiveness, resource planning, talent acquisition, coaching, performance management, and representation in bargaining unit matters, while fostering strong internal and external relationships and ensuring regulatory compliance. • Lead a safe, high‑performing operations team across multiple facilities and commodities. • Provide visible safety leadership through meetings, job briefs, audits, training, and incident investigations. • Evaluate team performance using efficiency, reliability, and quality metrics; drive continuous improvement. • Ensure crew composition, skills, and resources meet operational, reliability, and financial goals. • Recruit, train, coach, and manage employee performance; represent the organization in bargaining matters. • Build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships to support operations. • Oversee compliance with Xcel Energy policies, labor agreements, and regulatory standards.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least five years of experience in utility design, construction, operations, engineering or maintenance, along with technical expertise, operational knowledge of asset management tools, and proven change‑leadership skills. Additional expectations include an apprenticeship background, understanding of utility finance, experience working with bargaining unit employees, and willingness to work rotating shifts or be on call. Preferred qualifications are an associate or technical degree and three years of supervisory experience. • Minimum five years experience in utility design, construction, operations, engineering, or maintenance. • Demonstrated technical expertise, change‑leadership ability, and understanding of utility finance. • Preferred associate or technical degree and at least three years supervisory experience.
