About the Role

The Chief Estimator will oversee the end‑to‑end bid process, including cost‑saving initiatives, CPM scheduling, maintenance‑of‑traffic analysis, risk‑matrix creation, and preparation of bid packages. After a win, the estimator transfers documentation, presents to executives, and supports buyouts, value engineering, and change‑order analysis while maintaining estimating software and tracking RFI activity. • Lead a team to manage full bid packages, including cost‑saving initiatives, CPM scheduling, maintenance‑of‑traffic analysis, and risk‑matrix development • Review and incorporate standard and specification updates from owner authorities • Maintain estimating software data, including labor, equipment, material rates, and codebooks • Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers • Identify new bid opportunities with existing and prospective clients • Participate in hiring, internship programs, and mentorship of junior estimators • Prepare budgets for awarded contracts and track change‑order analysis

What You Bring

The Chief Estimator is a senior pre‑construction leader responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and guiding contract proposals and competitive bids. This role requires deep knowledge of construction processes, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead a team of estimators. Candidates must hold a B.S. in Engineering or Construction Management, possess at least 15 years of heavy‑civil experience with a minimum of eight years estimating in the United States, and be familiar with FDOT bridge and roadway standards. They should have a broad knowledge of civil construction disciplines such as foundations, concrete structures, cofferdams, utility work, earthwork, and intelligent transportation systems, as well as strong leadership and analytical abilities. • Minimum 15 years of heavy civil experience with at least 8 years of estimating in the United States • B.S. in Engineering or Construction Management • Knowledge of FDOT bridge and roadway construction standards • Expertise in foundations, concrete structures, cofferdams, retaining walls, temporary structural systems, underground utilities, earthwork, signalization, roadway lighting, signing, and intelligent transportation systems • Completion of 30‑hour OSHA training • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) • Experience using P6 Primavera scheduling software • Experience using HeavyBid from HCSS • Experience with Vista Accounting software • Ability to work with Bluebeam by REVU
