About the Role

The Assistant Property Manager supports the overall operation of multifamily communities, ensuring they remain market‑ready and delivering high‑level service to residents. This role works closely with the Property Manager to uphold Cushman & Wakefield’s standards and drive property performance. Key responsibilities include assisting with daily operations such as maintenance, capital improvements, lease administration, budgeting, collections, evictions, marketing, and lease renewals. The assistant also manages resident communications, maintains accurate files, and oversees on‑site staff selection, training, and performance. • Assist the Property Manager with maintenance, capital improvements, and lease administration. • Support budgeting, forecasting, reporting, collections, and eviction processes. • Coordinate marketing efforts, advertising tracking, and lease renewal paperwork. • Provide superior customer service to residents and prospective tenants. • Maintain resident files and ensure compliance with company standards. • Resolve resident conflicts promptly and follow up consistently. • Oversee on‑site staff hiring, interviewing, coaching, and performance management. • Manage the community budget and monitor expense control. • Collaborate with leasing staff to achieve leasing and marketing goals. • Set leasing targets, identify opportunities, and improve staff performance. • Supervise day‑to‑day team operations while enforcing C&W policies.

What You Bring

Success in this role requires strong communication, customer‑service orientation, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office software. The candidate must demonstrate effective bookkeeping, sales abilities, and the capacity to set leasing goals, supervise a team, and enforce company policies. A high school diploma or GED is required, with a bachelor’s degree preferred. Candidates should have at least three years of property‑management experience and one year of supervisory experience. The position operates in a professional office setting, using standard equipment and requiring periodic travel between properties, sometimes in adverse weather. Physical demands include prolonged standing, walking, stair navigation, and occasional lifting of up to 25 lb, with travel comprising up to 15 % of the workweek. • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills. • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and general office software proficiently. • Travel between properties as needed, up to 15% of work time.
