What You Bring

The Summer Experience Design Internship is based in Gensler’s New York office and runs full‑time from June 2 to August 7, 2026. The role involves contributing to a variety of project types—exhibits, workplace, hospitality, retail, and experiential environments—and must be performed on‑site; remote work is not permitted. A student‑led community project will be undertaken with fellow interns, allowing hands‑on contribution to the local area. The internship provides valuable experience at an architectural scale while working closely with multidisciplinary teams. Interns will also develop visualization skills across multiple media. Candidates should demonstrate strong design fundamentals—color theory, typography, composition, scale, and motion—and be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and Figma; experience with Blender or Cinema 4D is a plus. Additional desired traits include demonstrated leadership in school or community, strong organizational and multitasking abilities, and excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills. Candidates should be resourceful, self‑motivated, enthusiastic team players with strong analytical and interpersonal abilities. • Participate in experience mapping and narrative development linking brand strategy to spatial design. • Be enrolled in a relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s program (minimum third‑year undergraduate or first‑year graduate) and return post‑internship. • Demonstrate strong design fundamentals: color theory, typography, composition, scale, and motion. • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro) and Figma; Blender or Cinema 4D a plus. • Show leadership, strong organizational and multitasking abilities, and excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication.
