Job Highlights
About the Role
The Supply Chain and Material Operations Manager will operate within a heavily matrixed organization, holding direct ownership of logistics, purchasing, and planning functions. This role acts as the primary point of contact for escalations related to the execution of the overall SIOP plan and is responsible for short‑term production scheduling based on S&OE processes. Key responsibilities include maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counting, managing the movement of materials—including internal receipts, storage, distribution, and transportation—and deploying lean material flow to support plant operations. The manager will generate short‑term production schedules aligned with network definitions, monitor labor scheduling and production execution, and escalate material availability issues to COE and Network teams. The position also drives forecast attainment aligned with the MPS derived from the SIOP plan, executes shipment schedules to meet customer priority dates, and champions continuous improvement using tools such as internal assessments, visual management, standard work, and value‑stream mapping. Maintaining target inventory levels, on‑time delivery goals, and freight targets is essential. Additional duties involve overseeing plant‑owned data health activities, including routings, WMS system management, MRO, shipping and receiving, part movements, and production scheduling. The role requires compliance with export‑controlled information regulations, necessitating U.S. person status, and the candidate must reside within 50 miles of Los Angeles (zip 90039), with active‑duty military exempted. • Direct ownership of logistics, purchasing, and planning in a matrixed environment. • Serve as escalation point for SIOP plan execution. • Schedule short‑term production using S&OE processes. • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting. • Manage material flow: receipts, storage, distribution, transportation. • Deploy lean material flow to support plant operations. • Generate and align short‑term production schedules with network plans. • Monitor labor scheduling and production execution on the factory floor. • Escalate material availability issues to COE and Network teams. • Drive forecast attainment aligned with MPS from SIOP. • Execute shipment schedules meeting customer priority dates. • Lead continuous improvement using assessments, visual management, standard work, and value‑stream mapping. • Meet target inventory levels, on‑time delivery goals, and freight targets. • Oversee plant data health: routings, WMS, MRO, shipping/receiving, part movements, scheduling. • Ensure compliance with export‑controlled information regulations (U.S. person requirement).
