About the Role

The Sr. Buyer will primarily manage projects within the procurement organization, acting as a Sr. Buyer Project Manager and purchasing goods and services efficiently in line with established policies and procedures. This includes overseeing project scope, scheduling, risk, and commercial aspects while maintaining strong supplier relationships. • Manage projects from order to close‑out, including scope definition, scheduling, risk, and commercial management. • Lead cross‑functional project teams and resolve issues and conflicts. • Prepare and deliver project progress reports to executive management. • Develop and manage supplier relationships to achieve cost, availability, and inventory goals. • Negotiate pricing, terms, and annual contracts; analyze supplier cost data and benchmark competition. • Troubleshoot recurring quality problems with suppliers and drive continuous improvement. • Organize and facilitate product‑team problem‑solving sessions; monitor supplier quality and delivery. • Review MRP data to ensure timely procurement of components for production line requirements. • Support engineering, sales, and production with supplier delivery and open‑order data for cost‑effective material utilization. • Maintain accurate part and purchase order data; resolve pricing, invoicing, and contract issues. • Communicate with order management, sales, engineering, production, accounting, and quality on part‑related matters. • Maintain optimal inventory levels to support efficient production while achieving cost‑savings. • Promote compliance with the Rolls‑Royce Code of Conduct and execute special projects as required.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Materials Management, Business Finance, or related field; 5+ years of procurement/supply‑chain experience (or 9+ years equivalent). • US citizen or permanent resident. • Strong negotiation, financial analysis, and problem‑solving skills. • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, and communication abilities. • Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents. • Self‑starter capable of independent work with minimal direction. • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally on a limited basis. • Knowledge of production planning, supply chain, and materials management processes. • Proficiency with PC and MS Office; SAP experience preferred. • Familiarity with off‑highway diesel engine commodities; engineering or technical degree and German language skills are assets.
