Job Highlights
What You Bring
Technicians at Republic Services are responsible for maintaining fleet performance and quality by performing routine and preventive maintenance on both diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks. The two‑year Technician Apprenticeship trains entry‑level technicians in electrical diagnostics, HVAC, wheel end, air systems, brakes, hydraulics, and overall preventative maintenance. Apprentices must be logical problem solvers with enthusiasm for vehicle engineering and must embody the company’s core values. During on‑the‑job training, apprentices work under the supervision of a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor or Manager, completing the Republic Preventative Maintenance Program while gaining hands‑on experience with tire work, wheel‑end components, hydraulics, and electrical systems. The program also emphasizes leadership, life‑skill development, and networking across the company to prepare participants for long‑term careers. Applicants must commit to the two‑year program, demonstrate logical problem‑solving abilities, have an interest in engineering, and be willing to work flexible schedules that may include nights, weekends, or holidays. Candidates must travel to and reside in Dallas, Texas, for the initial training period and be prepared to relocate nationwide after graduation. Compensation is $16.00/hour during Dallas training and $22.40/hour during on‑the‑job training, with training slated to begin on March 23, 2026.
