About the Role

• Manage overall construction activities and assign tasks • Coordinate with departments to secure materials, equipment, and inspections per schedule • Collaborate with Project Managers on budgeting, forecasting, and managing labor, equipment, and supplies • Review construction documents for completeness and constructability • Create and update project schedule and three‑week look‑ahead • Align plans and specifications with engineers, resolving discrepancies • Develop site utilization plan and determine crew sizes • Select appropriate formwork systems and equipment • Lead pre‑construction planning sessions and site meetings • Supervise work crews, providing direction and performance evaluations • Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, foremen, and assistant superintendents • Implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program and manage union/open‑shop issues

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent I who can interact with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment, staying flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The role requires anticipating problems, critical issues, and opportunities, creatively problem‑solving, and delivering viable solutions. The Senior Superintendent will coordinate on‑site work activities and supervise teams across multiple or large, complex construction projects. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Postings typically remain open a minimum of five days and an average of forty‑four days. Mortenson does not accept unsolicited agency communications without a valid agreement. • Hold an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil/Architectural Engineering, or Construction Management, or possess 10 years of trade experience • Minimum 15 years of construction experience, including at least 10 years in supervisory roles • Experience with solar or large industrial power projects • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and organize tasks • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills • Strong professional attitude and customer service skills • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100%

Benefits

The base pay range for this role is $144,300 – $216,500, with higher ranges for certain locations, and compensation is positioned based on knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
