Geotechnical Internship (Level 1)
Assist in geotechnical field and lab work, supporting subsurface exploration projects.
Job Highlights
About the Role
• Assist with lab testing and classification of soil samples • Draft boring logs, location diagrams, and drilling instructions • Schedule drill rigs and obtain utility clearance for subsurface explorations • Perform boring and test pit layouts using conventional surveying and GPS • Operate hand augers to collect subsurface data and soil samples • Observe foundation or ground‑improvement installations • Provide own transportation for job sites (mileage reimbursed)

What You Bring
• Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering, Geology, or related field • Ability to lift 40‑70 lb repeatedly and occasionally 85 lb to waist height
