About the Role
The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor oversees a maintenance shop that falls under the responsibility of a Maintenance Manager. This role supervises a technician team that performs preventive maintenance and repairs on the company fleet, post‑collection facility machinery, and equipment used in the container shop. The supervisor ensures all work complies with Company safety standards, as well as federal and state regulations, while planning and scheduling repairs to minimize lost productivity. Key responsibilities include directing A, B, and C‑level technicians to perform work safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The supervisor monitors operational performance, reports to management, and recommends process improvements. Daily duties involve shop huddles, fleet walks, coaching, hiring and termination decisions in partnership with HR, employee training, performance evaluations, and merit recommendations. The role also requires conducting inspections of outside repairs, performing quality‑control checks, and overseeing complex diagnostic tasks, including road testing vehicles when needed.
