About the Role
Interns will engage in research, field work, preliminary calculations, and documentation while receiving training and adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies. The position does not include relocation or housing assistance. • Support diverse engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills. • Conduct project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations. • Prepare final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates. • Collect and maintain project documentation. • Complete assigned training tasks. • Make responsible decisions regarding company resources and follow the Code of Conduct. • Follow direction from mentors, leaders, and managers. • Uphold workplace safety and comply with health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.

What You Bring
The Buildings Team in New York is looking for a full‑time structural engineering intern for the Summer 2026 program. Candidates must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate engineering program and will participate in a 12‑week schedule beginning around May 18, 2026, with a flexible start date. • Learn basic structural engineering principles. • Enrolled in an accredited Structural Engineering or related undergraduate program, graduating Aug 2026 or later. • Must be at least 18 years old. • Communicate effectively with both engineering and non‑engineering audiences. • Possess basic proficiency in technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets. • Authorized to work in the United States at internship start. • Preferably enrolled in an accredited Structural Engineering or related master’s/PhD program, graduating Aug 2026 or later. • Preferably experienced with AutoCAD, Revit, and analysis tools such as SAP, ETABS, or RISA. • Preferably have prior internship experience and campus leadership involvement.
