Job Highlights
About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments to collect waste and recyclable containers that can exceed 1,000 lb. Depending on the route, they may serve residential neighborhoods, commercial sites, or roll‑off locations, requiring skilled backing maneuvers and navigation through high‑traffic streets, alleys, driveways and tight industrial environments. • Operate vehicles in compliance with WM Safety Rules, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR). • Report unsafe situations, incidents, accidents, or service interruptions to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Attend scheduled training, briefings, and meetings and collaborate with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency. • Dump receptacles cleanly, keep customer sites free of debris, and complete end‑of‑day documentation. • Assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.

What You Bring
Drivers are expected to operate vehicles safely and reliably, report any unsafe conditions, and complete all required documentation. The role may require a REAL ID for air travel or access to federal property, and successful candidates must be willing to obtain one if needed. • Required: Minimum 1 year experience operating a CDL‑class A or B vehicle (or equivalent military driving) within the last 7 years; at least 18 years old; legal work eligibility; CDL with air‑brake endorsement. • Preferred: High school diploma or GED.
