About the Role
The Mechanical Design Coordinator role supports the design and analysis of power‑related projects, working alongside senior engineers, designers and BIM specialists. The position offers the chance to manage small independent projects while gaining experience on larger, complex assignments. This role is a pathway to professional growth within HDR’s employee‑owned culture. • Conduct analyses to develop power‑related design options or recommendations and assist in preparing project deliverables such as drawing packages, cost estimates, and specifications. • Perform routine engineering assignments using standard techniques and procedures. • Complete projects with clear objectives and limited variables. • Work independently on small projects or support senior engineers on larger projects. • Collaborate with Project Engineers, EITs, Designers, or BIM Specialists as needed.

What You Bring
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering and possess solid Microsoft Office skills. An Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification is preferred, and those without it will start under a Design Coordinator code with the expectation to obtain the credential. A proactive attitude and commitment to HDR’s collaborative, inclusive environment are essential. • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification (candidates without it start as Design Coordinators and must obtain it for progression). • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
