About the Role

In this position, the manager will provide highway design and Bentley CAD support guidance to ensure high‑quality deliverables. They will coordinate and oversee CADD designs across multiple moderate to large‑scale projects, offering situational guidance and integrating design support to solve challenges and inform corrective strategies. Quality assurance responsibilities include ensuring that both conventional and digital designs exceed industry standards. Leadership duties include reviewing the team’s 3D computer‑aided design work, developing and enforcing WSP policies and best practices, and collaborating with project managers and TEC leads to guarantee compliance with client standards. The manager will work with WSP’s National Digital Delivery team to implement new processes and technologies that streamline workflows. Additional responsibilities involve providing technical guidance, troubleshooting CADD tools, overseeing staffing assignments, delivery schedules, and documenting standard practices. The role also requires ensuring compliance with project‑specific procedures such as data collection, digital libraries, and document management, as well as mentoring staff to support their professional development. Ethical decision‑making regarding company resources and adherence to WSP’s Code of Conduct are essential. The manager will assist in scoping and executing large, multi‑phase design support projects. • Oversee Northeast regional digital delivery and CAD operations. • Coordinate staff and project workflows for high‑quality design production. • Set design standards, deliver training, and act as liaison among project, TEC, and CAD managers. • Provide highway design and Bentley CAD guidance to ensure quality deliverables. • Manage CADD designs on multiple moderate to large‑scale projects, offering situational guidance. • Conduct quality assurance for conventional and digital designs, exceeding industry standards. • Review and lead team’s 3D CADD work, enforcing WSP policies and best practices. • Collaborate with project managers, TEC leads, and National Digital Delivery team to streamline workflows. • Provide technical guidance, troubleshoot CADD tools, and oversee staffing and delivery schedules. • Develop standard practice documentation and support scoping of complex multi‑phase projects. • Ensure compliance with data collection, digital libraries, and project‑specific procedures. • Mentor staff for professional growth and uphold ethical decision‑making.

What You Bring

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, ten or more years of civil transportation infrastructure experience, and a decade of experience as a design supervisor and CAD manager. Candidates must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and CAD management skills, with expertise in Bentley ProjectWise, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and AutoCAD, as well as advanced 3D roadway modeling and knowledge of NYSDOT standards. Additional expectations involve independent work, technical writing proficiency, critical‑thinking, problem‑solving abilities, and willingness to travel. • Required: Bachelor’s degree, 10+ years civil transportation infrastructure experience, 10+ years design supervisor/CAD manager experience. • Expertise in Bentley ProjectWise, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD, and advanced 3D roadway modeling. • Knowledge of NYSDOT standards and ability to work independently while guiding junior team members. • Strong leadership, communication, technical writing, and critical‑thinking/problem‑solving skills. • Willingness to travel as project needs dictate. • Preferred: Bentley ORD Certified Design Professional, 25+ years experience, 15+ years supervisory experience.
