About the Role
The Project Manager will be responsible for directing teams throughout the project lifecycle, managing multiple concurrent projects, maintaining client relationships, coordinating staffing and workloads, tracking financial performance, and ensuring quality through QA/QC procedures. Mentorship of junior staff, travel to client sites, and preparation of proposal content are also key components of the position. • Direct and coordinate single‑ or multi‑discipline design teams from project initiation through close‑out. • Manage multiple small‑to‑medium projects concurrently and oversee routine large projects. • Establish and nurture client relationships; participate in marketing, contractual, design and production meetings. • Lead work sessions to develop deliverables with staff and stakeholders. • Plan staffing levels and workload throughout the project lifecycle to meet schedule commitments. • Monitor project finances, adjust effort to stay within agreed budget and schedule, and conduct periodic reviews with accounting and leadership. • Implement QA/QC procedures and ensure compliance with project standards. • Supervise large project teams and mentor junior project managers. • Travel 10‑20 % (including international) to client sites and HDR offices as needed. • Control project scope, schedule, and budget; manage forecasting, invoicing, and contracts. • Prepare proposal content, including scope, schedule, and budget estimates.

What You Bring
We are seeking a Project Manager whose expertise lies in client development and delivery of large, complex projects across sectors such as healthcare, civic, sports, transportation, aerospace, and commercial real estate. The role involves leading multidisciplinary design teams from concept through construction support and commissioning, while collaborating closely with Regional Building Engineering Services Business Group Managers and our global client management team. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, at least seven years of relevant experience, a minimum of two years in project management, a professional engineering (PE) license, and proficiency with MS Office and MS Project. Preferred experience covers Revit, AutoCAD, BIM tools, PMP certification, a master’s degree, strong organizational and communication skills, and sector‑specific knowledge such as healthcare or aerospace; local candidates and those willing to travel are encouraged. • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, 7 + years related experience, minimum 2 years project management, professional PE license, MS Office & Project proficiency, demonstrated leadership. • Preferred: Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Newforma, Procore, BIM 360, Bluebeam; PMP certification; Master’s degree; strong organizational and communication skills; ability to travel locally (~50 %) and regionally (<10 %); active participation in industry associations; experience in healthcare, data centers, aviation, mass‑transportation, or aerospace sectors; local candidate preference.
