About the Role

The Wastewater Operator III is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of a wastewater treatment facility, monitoring system performance, making adjustments, and ensuring all equipment such as pumps, conveyors, blowers, and vacuum systems remain operational. The role oversees plant operations, ensures regulatory compliance, coordinates with drivers and staff, and maintains accurate records of system readings, maintenance activities, and waste shipments. • Monitor effluent and adjust treatment to maintain compliance • Verify inbound waste loads meet parameters and protect plant health • Direct drivers to follow site safety procedures • Collaborate with operators and manager to resolve treatment issues • Report equipment malfunctions, spills, and compliance concerns promptly • Record daily system readings, inspections, and enter data into information systems • Review and escalate equipment maintenance and repair records as needed • Review logs of waste received and shipped off‑site • Perform routine laboratory sampling and in‑lab tests per procedures • Conduct indoor and outdoor housekeeping, including debris removal and weed trimming

What You Bring

Applicants must have current 40‑Hour HAZWOPER training or be able to obtain it, possess solid knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and related mechanical/electrical systems, and demonstrate strong problem‑solving, attention to detail, and clear communication skills.
