About the Role
The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing utility and building electrical and control systems, including boiler and cogeneration plant controls, chiller plant controls, electrical distribution, and HVAC control systems. This role also assists with general building maintenance such as HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and miscellaneous repairs. The position requires the ability to troubleshoot PLC-based control systems and a strong working knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS) to monitor and adjust HVAC performance. Working independently under the guidance of the Site Maintenance Manager, the technician completes preventive maintenance and work orders within established timeframes while protecting and enhancing the owner’s assets. Key duties include diagnosing and repairing PLC-based controls, monitoring HVAC systems via BAS, performing daily and periodic maintenance, and completing preventive maintenance (PMs) and work orders accurately and on schedule. The technician supports plant maintenance, operations, and building renovation projects, assists in improving the Preventive Maintenance Program, and ensures all work complies with applicable codes and safety regulations. Participation in an on-call rotation for off-hour emergencies and reporting unsafe conditions are also required. • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical, lighting, HVAC, and building control systems. • Diagnose and fix PLC-based control systems and monitor HVAC via Building Automation Systems. • Perform preventive maintenance and complete work orders on schedule. • Support plant maintenance, operations, and building renovation projects. • Ensure safety, code compliance, and report unsafe conditions. • Participate in on-call rotation for off-hour emergencies. • Provide responsive customer service and coordinate with vendors and team members.

What You Bring
Qualified candidates must have at least five years of experience in building maintenance, with a minimum of five years working on electrical power and utility control systems. Strong HVAC operation, maintenance, and repair experience is essential, along with in-depth knowledge of air handling, airflow, indoor air quality, heating, and exhaust systems. Applicants should be proficient in reading technical drawings, specifications, manuals, and schematics, and have experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors, and team members are required, as is the physical ability to lift 50 pounds or more. • Minimum five years experience in building maintenance and electrical/utilities. • Strong HVAC operation, maintenance, repair, and indoor air quality knowledge. • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and use CMMS. • Physical ability to lift 50 lb, climb, and stand for extended periods.
