About the Role

As a Service Technician, you will respond to service calls, diagnose equipment malfunctions, and perform repairs on electronic fire alarm and related life‑safety systems at customer locations. You will follow established troubleshooting procedures and maintain clear communication to ensure customer satisfaction. • Receive and respond to service calls from the Service Resource Center • Diagnose and repair electronic fire alarm and related building system products on‑site • Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures and reference technical manuals and bulletins • Service, troubleshoot, and install fire & life safety systems from multiple manufacturers, including SimplexGrinnell • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and operational manuals • Complete service acknowledgments with proper coding via smartphones or laptops and obtain customer signatures • Participate in scheduled on‑call rotation and provide after‑hours support as needed • Mentor and train other service team members • Provide solutions, quotes, and upsell recommendations to improve building efficiency • Document all task‑related activity, productivity, and other required paperwork promptly

What You Bring

The role requires effective use of technical resources, accurate documentation, participation in an on‑call rotation, and the ability to mentor peers. You will also provide recommendations, quotes, and upsell opportunities to improve building efficiency. We seek candidates with at least five years of experience in low‑voltage electrical systems, strong blueprint reading skills, and the physical ability to work in varied environments. A high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and excellent customer‑service orientation are essential. • Minimum 5 years experience with low‑voltage electrical systems (fire/life safety, access control, nurse call, paging) • Preferred NICET Level II certification • Proficient with test equipment such as multimeters and digital analyzers • Ability to lift 50‑70 lb and work at heights up to 40 ft, including ladders and scaffolding • Valid driver’s license meeting company standards and compliance with applicable codes
