About the Role
As a Senior Project Accountant at Gensler, you will be responsible for managing financial accounts and analysis for the firm’s project revenue and business practices throughout the entire project life cycle. Success in this role depends on strong organization and a passion for maintaining the fiscal health of each assigned project from due diligence through client invoicing and collections. You will work closely with principals, studio leaders, design managers, and the broader project accounting team to build effective business relationships and ensure accurate, consistent billing and financial reporting at the project, studio, and office levels. In addition, you will support the U.S. firm‑wide finance team on complex projects outside the European region and act as a trusted advisor on financial matters. • Lead financial oversight for assigned projects, from initial due diligence to final invoicing and collections. • Partner with principals, studio leaders, and design managers to ensure accurate billing and consistent financial reporting. • Review project work plans, budgets, staffing, and contract terms to validate fees and forecast expenditures. • Coordinate consultant invoices, monitor accounts receivable, and assist design managers with collection efforts. • Maintain organized project contract files and provide training to design managers on financial project maintenance.

What You Bring
The ideal candidate holds a B.A. in Accounting or Business Administration and brings 10‑15+ years of project accounting experience in a professional‑service environment, preferably within architecture or design. Advanced Excel proficiency is required, and familiarity with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint is a plus, along with strong organizational, detail‑oriented, and communication skills. • Require a B.A. in Accounting or Business Administration with 10‑15+ years of project accounting experience in a professional‑service firm. • Demonstrate advanced Excel skills; experience with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint is a plus. • Exhibit strong organizational abilities, high accuracy, and effective communication in high‑volume, deadline‑driven environments.
