About the Role
The incumbent will create fire‑alarm drawings, produce accurate AutoCAD submittals, and select appropriate equipment to meet scope and budget. Responsibilities include labor forecasting, technical recommendations, internal and external communication, bill‑of‑material preparation, RFI generation and support for ongoing service engineering. The role also involves value engineering, design coordination with MEP contractors, and suggesting new products that enhance functionality and value. • Produce Fire Alarm drawings in accordance with the scope of work and budget as defined by contract documents and sales estimate ensuring equipment compatibility. • Provide AutoCAD labor and direction as required to complete submittals and other engineered drawings accurately and professionally. • Interpret project documents, estimate, and other information as available to select the proper equipment to achieve the scope of work required in the most economical and functional manner. • Accurately forecast necessary labor required to engineer a complete project and track this over time to achieve budget and forecast goals. • Recommend technical solutions to sales and operations; constantly research outside purchase products. • Communicate with internal employees as required to ensure engineering is accurate and timely. • Provide input to others as requested or required to assist in estimation, value engineering, design, installation, start‑up, commissioning, and training for building systems. • Communicate with external organizations such as consulting engineers, building owners, and other contractors to ensure accurate and timely engineering. • Provide support for ongoing service engineering and support for existing building systems. • Complete Bill of Material for every project. • Suggest/recommend new products that provide better functionality and value to projects. • Generate Request for Information (RFIs) to clarify design issues and recommend appropriate solutions as necessary. • Coordinate Fire Alarm design with existing structure and other MEP contractors. • Communicate with sales and other departments to optimize design efficiency for fabrication and installation of systems. • Maintain a satisfactory driving record per Climatec’s vehicle policy.

What You Bring
The role is defined across three experience levels. Level I performs assigned tasks with supervision and holds a low‑level industry certification. Level II consistently meets objectives, mentors Level I staff and possesses a mid‑level certification. The Senior level brings deep fire‑system expertise, high‑level certification, industry involvement and provides mentorship and supervision as needed. Candidates must have at least a high‑school diploma, NICET certification and knowledge of NFPA, International Fire Code and basic computer systems such as MS Office and AutoCAD. A two‑year technical degree or comparable experience (e.g., military training) is preferred, along with 5 + years of field‑survey and computer‑debugging experience and NICET IV certification. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to lift up to 30 lb, stand, walk and climb stairs are required. • Minimum of high school diploma. • Two year technical degree in drafting or Electronics related studies preferred. • Other technical experience such as military, on‑the‑job training programs, etc., may meet this requirement as determined by local management. • NICET Certification. • Understanding of basic computer systems including MS Office Suite and AutoCAD. • Ability to configure and debug basic computer problems. • NFPA knowledge required. • Ability to conduct field surveys for projects. • International Fire Code knowledge required. • Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing. • Expertise of computer systems including MS Office Suite and AutoCAD. • 5+ years of experience configuring and debugging computer problems. • 5+ years of experience conducting field surveys for projects. • NICET IV certification. • Familiarity with Honeywell’s Notifier. • Be able to lift and carry drawings, personal computers, material, and spend significant time sitting. • Be able to lift up to 30 lb. • Be able to spend significant time standing and walking. • Be able to climb flights of stairs throughout a typical day. • Dental • Vision
