About the Role
The Assistant Community Manager supports the Community Manager by overseeing daily operations and financial functions of a housing community. In the manager’s absence, the assistant handles personnel, leasing, maintenance, finance, administration and risk management, ensuring compliance with company policies, safety standards and fair‑housing regulations. This onsite leader supervises staff, drives resident satisfaction and protects the property’s cash flow. • Post all resident and non‑resident payments accurately and promptly. • Process and reconcile daily accounts receivable. • Monitor bad debt, issue late notices, contact residents/guarantors and coordinate evictions. • Record all resident charges, including utility bill‑backs, and post move‑out fees and security‑deposit refunds. • Complete month‑end closing procedures and generate financial reports. • Maintain organized resident files and conduct regular audits. • Attend daily onsite and enforce attendance policies. • Screen, hire, train, coach and develop onsite staff per company guidelines. • Provide ongoing training, counseling and performance feedback to ensure policy compliance. • Promote a collaborative work environment and uphold company standards. • Oversee leasing activities to ensure timely lease signings, documentation and reporting. • Implement marketing strategies outlined in the annual marketing plan. • Resolve resident complaints and requests to maintain satisfaction. • Develop and execute resident retention programs such as events, promotions and newsletters. • Conduct showings, lease negotiations and move‑ins for prospective residents. • Deliver excellent customer service and monitor maintenance request response times. • Perform regular property inspections to ensure appearance and timely repairs. • Supervise overall business functions related to operations. • Manage property resources, obtain vendor bids and control supply costs.

What You Bring
Candidates need a high‑school diploma (Bachelor’s preferred) or equivalent experience in the housing industry, basic computer skills and knowledge of Fair Housing and OSHA. The role requires prolonged standing or sitting, occasional ladder work, lifting up to 25 lb, and the ability to work overtime, weekends or nights for emergencies. Pay ranges from $25 to $28 per hour plus a total‑rewards package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) matching, bonuses, paid sick days and holidays.
