About the Role
The Chief of Staff to the CTO is a senior strategic leader who amplifies the effectiveness and operating cadence of the Technology organization, drives execution on the CTO’s highest‑priority initiatives, and translates complex technical work into clear insights for the executive team, board, and investors. Working closely with the CTO, the role defines and prioritizes strategic initiatives, leads planning and performance management across Reservoir Engineering, Exploration Geoscience, Data Analytics, and Land/Permitting, and establishes operating rhythms, OKRs, and accountability mechanisms while supporting budgeting and capacity planning with Finance. The position also crafts executive‑ready communications, synthesizes subsurface, drilling, and power‑plant data into dashboards and presentations, develops technical white papers and assessments, and ensures cross‑functional alignment with asset development, finance, and corporate teams, while leading special projects as directed. • Partner with the CTO to define, prioritize, and execute strategic technology initiatives. • Lead strategic planning, goal‑setting, and performance management for Reservoir Engineering, Exploration Geoscience, Data Analytics, and Land/Permitting teams. • Establish operating rhythms, OKRs, and accountability mechanisms to meet technical milestones. • Support budgeting, resource allocation, and capacity planning in collaboration with Finance. • Synthesize subsurface, drilling, and power‑plant data into executive‑ready dashboards, memos, and presentations. • Translate technical progress and risks into business‑relevant narratives for executives, investors, and the Board. • Develop technical white papers, case studies, and internal analyses showcasing geothermal system performance. • Conduct independent technical assessments and data validation before executive review. • Align technology decisions with asset development, finance, and corporate strategies. • Lead or support special projects such as diligence efforts, strategic partnerships, and internal transformations. • Serve as a trusted advisor and sounding board for the CTO on technical and strategic matters.

What You Bring
Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in engineering or geosciences, three or more years of experience in the energy sector or consulting, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple high‑priority initiatives; an MBA or advanced technical degree and experience in geothermal, oil & gas, or advanced analytics are preferred. The role is based in Golden, CO with hybrid flexibility, requires occasional travel, and offers a $140‑180k salary range, stock options, bonuses, 401(k) match, and comprehensive benefits. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or geosciences and 3+ years of relevant experience. • Preferred qualifications include an MBA, advanced technical degree, and experience in geothermal or oil & gas sectors. • Based in Golden, CO with hybrid work flexibility; occasional travel required.
