About the Role
A typical day includes pre‑site preparation, equipment startup, repair, preventive maintenance, and field modifications, as well as problem‑solving with customers, electricians, sales partners, technical support, and district service teams. Representatives also complete field service reports, expense reports, preventive‑maintenance logs, and startup data sheets while continuously learning about new products both in the field and classroom. Additional duties may involve regional or nationwide travel, assisting senior technicians and project managers on large system start‑ups, collaborating with larger teams on high‑complexity projects, and acting on behalf of the District Service Manager to resolve operational issues. • Perform equipment assembly, startup, diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance on company and third‑party equipment. • Solve problems with customers, electricians, sales partners, technical support, and district service teams. • Complete field service reports, expense reports, preventive‑maintenance logs, and startup data sheets. • Collaborate with managers, regional service directors, and senior technicians on complex escalated issues. • Travel regionally (and occasionally nationwide) for customer support, including overnight trips. • Assist senior technicians and project managers on large system start‑ups and high‑complexity projects. • Act on behalf of the District Service Manager to resolve operational issues.

What You Bring
Candidates should have an associate’s degree, trade/vocational certification, military training, or equivalent electrical‑related experience, be able to read blueprints and schematics, and possess a solid understanding of AC/DC power principles. At least two years of field service repair experience with UPS systems, power distribution, switchgear, ATS, or similar equipment is required, along with strong safety practices, NFPA‑70E or OSHA familiarity, safe driving skills, proficiency with diagnostic tools, and the ability to write clear service reports. The role demands physical stamina for lifting up to 40 lb, working in extreme temperatures, confined spaces, and standing for extended periods. • Associate’s degree, trade/vocational certification, or military training in an electrical‑related field. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and operation manuals. • Strong understanding of AC and DC power principles and related circuit components. • Minimum 2 years field service repair experience with UPS, power distribution, switchgear, ATS, or similar equipment. • Proven safety practices (lock‑out/tag‑out, NFPA‑70E or OSHA familiarity) and safe driving record. • Proficiency with test and diagnostic equipment. • Ability to write clear service reports and effectively communicate with customers. • Physical ability to lift up to 40 lb, work in extreme temperatures, confined spaces, and stand for long periods.
