About the Role

The Associate Director – Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor will provide expert cost management for a large‑scale, mission‑critical data centre programme. This client‑facing leadership role requires strong communication, stakeholder influence and the ability to drive collaboration and accountability throughout the project lifecycle. The position also involves embedding Turner & Townsend’s purpose, values and vision while managing internal and external relationships. • Lead end‑to‑end cost management across all project phases for hyperscale data centre programmes. • Develop and maintain detailed cost plans, estimates and forecasts using industry benchmarks. • Manage change control, review and negotiate change orders, and ensure robust commercial governance. • Oversee contractor and subcontractor pricing reviews and develop procurement strategies. • Integrate cost forecasts with project schedules and milestones in coordination with scheduling teams. • Produce and present monthly cost reports, executive summaries and financial updates to stakeholders. • Serve as primary contact for clients, stakeholders and consultants, maintaining strong relationships. • Conduct cost risk analysis, scenario planning and monitor market trends for pricing and labor. • Identify and implement cost optimisation and value‑engineering strategies to reduce lifecycle costs. • Set, track and report on KPIs and critical success factors, delivering presentations to senior leadership. • Manage financial performance using internal systems, BMS and company delivery methodologies. • Improve cost‑management processes, templates and tools while capturing lessons learned. • Provide leadership, mentor junior staff, conduct performance reviews and foster a collaborative culture. • Act as brand ambassador, develop market understanding and generate business pipeline opportunities. • Participate in proposals/RFP responses and attend networking events to expand market presence. • Adhere to SOX control responsibilities where applicable.

What You Bring

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or related field (graduate degree preferred). • Bring 8–12+ years of cost management or project controls experience on large‑scale, mission‑critical projects. • Demonstrate construction consultancy experience with strong client‑facing delivery skills. • Possess deep understanding of MEP systems, resilience requirements and campus‑scale infrastructure. • Expertise in budgeting, financial reporting, cost control systems, Earned Value Management and procurement. • Proficient with CostX, Oracle, Excel, Primavera and other industry‑standard cost management tools. • RICS accreditation or progress toward certification is highly desirable. • Exhibit excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and stakeholder management abilities. • Show strong analytical, problem‑solving, organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
