About the Role

The role involves reading blueprints and specifications to determine material scope, identifying tools and safety precautions, fabricating and installing structural steel, hoisting equipment via bull rigging or crane, and verifying alignment with plumb bobs, lasers, transits, or levels. Additional tasks include bolting, riveting, cutting, bending, and welding steel components according to supervisor instructions. • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine material quantities and locations. • Identify required tools and safety precautions for each task. • Fabricate steel equipment according to drawings or supervisor instructions. • Hoist equipment and tools using bull rigging or crane. • Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of structural members with plumb bobs, lasers, transits, or levels. • Connect and bolt columns, beams, and girders per specifications. • Position steel components for bolting or permanent riveting. • Cut, bend, and weld steel pieces using shears, torches, and welding equipment.

What You Bring

ZACHRY is seeking an experienced Maintenance Industrial NCCER Boilermaker for EXXONMOBILE Beaumont in Texas. No per diem is offered. The journeyman will construct iron and steel structures, including a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) and other miscellaneous components. Candidates must have at least four years of NCCER boilermaker experience, including work with exchangers, and possess all required knowledge, skills, and abilities. They must meet the physical requirements, be able to work at heights over 300 ft, have all necessary tools, and reliable transportation. Preference is given to current or former Zachry employees and those holding NCCER certification for Industrial Journeyman Carpenter, supported by formal or technical education. Physical demands include extensive standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 lb, as well as climbing ladders, working on platforms, and performing duties at heights with appropriate fall protection. Employees must wear required personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, respirators, safety vests, gloves, and leather work boots. • Possess 4+ years NCCER boilermaker experience, including exchanger work. • Meet physical requirements, including work at heights over 300 ft and lifting up to 50 lb. • Own required tools, have reliable transportation, and hold NCCER certification for Industrial Journeyman Carpenter. • Wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, respirator, safety vest, gloves, leather boots).
