About the Role

The Buyer role is responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. The incumbent will manage requisitions, create purchase orders, maintain supplier data, and ensure compliance with corporate policies while supporting the company’s sourcing strategies. • Process requisitions timely, ensuring quality, service, delivery, and cost. • Maintain and improve supplier relationships, lead times, cost, and quality. • Track vendor data, performance metrics, purchasing activities, and pricing. • Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accurate open PO lines. • Monitor market conditions impacting cost, lead time, and supply availability. • Keep item and supplier information up to date in the system. • Issue RFQs and expedite parts, providing backorder updates. • Resolve invoice discrepancies with accounts payable and vendors. • Ensure compliance with corporate and departmental policies. • Manage multiple suppliers to meet delivery, quality, and cost targets. • Troubleshoot material shortages, quality, and delivery issues. • Handle long‑lead items and read technical drawings. • Communicate and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. • Analyze data and solve problems under pressure and tight timelines.

What You Bring

Successful candidates will have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and proven success in managing multiple suppliers to meet quality, cost, and delivery goals. Required skills include problem‑solving, strong attention to detail, proficiency with Microsoft Office and an ERP system such as Oracle, and the ability to read technical drawings. • Use Microsoft Office and ERP systems (Oracle or similar) effectively. • Pay strong attention to detail in a high‑volume environment. • Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; fluent in English.
