About the Role

In this role you will create basic designs under senior guidance, perform equipment selections, and conduct load, energy, and pressure‑drop calculations for projects of varying size. You will advance from simple assignments to more complex projects while collaborating with a technical team. • Represent Syska Hennessy Group and liaise with internal design teams, clients, and consultants. • Coordinate across architectural and engineering disciplines within the design team. • Conduct field inspections to assess existing conditions and plan new work. • Assist Senior Engineer with due‑diligence, feasibility, gap analysis, and technical drawings using CAD/REVIT. • Maintain master drawing organization and adhere to company standards. • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely delivery of work assignments. • Attend continuing‑education seminars on technical and professional topics.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer III‑IV to join our growing team in Los Angeles, CA or Irvine, CA. Successful candidates must demonstrate strong REVIT and MEP skills, from mark‑ups to detailed drawings, and have basic knowledge of construction documentation, design‑phase requirements, and trade‑specific analysis software such as eQuest or Trace. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, 3.5‑7+ years of relevant MEP experience, proficiency with the latest AutoCAD MEP and REVIT, a solid understanding of system selection and codes, and FE certification. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution. • Possess 3.5–7+ years of MEP experience on aviation, healthcare, commercial, or mission‑critical projects. • Proficient with the latest AutoCAD MEP and REVIT versions. • Understand proper system selection and applicable codes. • Hold FE certification. • Experience in mission‑critical, science‑technology, healthcare projects; interest in project management preferred.
