About the Role
The Driver Helper rides on the vehicle and assists the driver in delivering prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services on a designated residential route. The role includes safely loading waste, carrying bags and containers to the vehicle, directing the driver from the ground, and maintaining vehicle and route cleanliness. Key duties involve operating the packing mechanism, cleaning the packer blade and truck body after each trip, performing pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections, and reporting any safety issues. The helper interacts courteously with customers and dispatchers, monitors waste for unacceptable material, addresses accidental spills in accordance with safety policies, and meets productivity standards. • Ride on the vehicle to assist the driver on a designated route. • Operate packing mechanism, levers, and handles to activate lifting and loading. • Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body each disposal trip; spray and clean hopper and truck if applicable. • Perform complete pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections and report safety issues. • Interact courteously with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure timely, professional service. • Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable material. • Clean areas around accidental waste spills in accordance with safety standards. • Maintain productivity standards to ensure efficient customer service. • Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
